After taking care of guests who remained in Mauritius after the border closure and assisting these guests to return to their home countries on repatriation flights, Beachcomber has been working closely with the Government to address the priorities and provide the best possible support. The Group has agreed to let the Government use some of its hotels as quarantine centres. Additionally, its in-flight food preparation subsidiary, Beachcomber Catering, also supplies daily meals to the island’s quarantine locales and its healthcare personnel while applying stringent health and safety measures to protect its team members.
“We are facing unprecedented times, undoubtedly the most testing period for our industry since its inception. However, I am sure that our unity and solidarity will help us overcome this epidemic at both national and international level,” says the Beachcomber Group’s CEO, Gilbert Espitalier-Noël. His thoughts also go out to all the patients and caregivers around the world who are involved in the fight against COVID-19.
Going beyond the borders of Mauritius, the hotel group also wishes to lend its full support to those who are putting their lives on the line every day to preserve others, as well as assist and care for the sick. Beachcomber invites doctors and nurses to enjoy a 50% discount when placing a booking until 30 September 2020, and travelling between 01 June 2020 and 31 May 2021 (excluding 20 December 2020 – 05 January 2021 and 03 – 17 April 2021). The discount applies not only to the accommodation, but also any optional food and beverage package selected and is applicable to up to two rooms per family.
