Air Mauritius names Beachcomber Tours as its Top Partner - for the 12th year running

The annual awards recognise the efforts and achievements of Air Mauritius’s partners under the theme, Follow your dreams they know the way.

It was a special evening for the entire Beachcomber team. Not only was it Beachcomber’s 12th consecutive win in the Top Partner category, Beachcomber also received the following accolades:

  • Number 1: Top 10 Partners (based on revenue support and growth)
  • Number 1: Top Groups Partner 2019
  • Top Travel Smart Partner 2019
  • Special Commitment Award:  Terry Munro, Managing Director, Beachcomber Tours

Addressing their nominees, partners and guests, Air Mauritius Regional General Manager Carla da Silva thanked South Africa’s travel industry for its unwavering support and commitment.

“Without partnerships, like-minded organisations and peers, businesses do not grow and achieve great things. We are very grateful for the partnerships that have helped us achieve our value chain goals,” said da Silva.

Beachcomber Tours SA Managing Director Terry Munro said that the Beachcomber team were delighted to accept the award as top supporter for Air Mauritius again this year

“Beachcomber and Air Mauritius have worked closely together for many years in promoting and selling holidays to Mauritius. Carla Da Silva, Wouter Nel and their entire team have played a key role in offering us excellent service with regular flights, including direct flights to Cape Town.

“Carla’s excellent communication and passion has helped in growing our partnership over the years. MK’s Travel Smart product and the opportunity to buy seats during peak times helps sales all round.”

Munro was particularly pleased that Beachcomber’s entire management team could attend the event in Johannesburg to receive the awards: “This is the 12th year in a row we have achieved the number one position from Air Mauritius for sales revenue in the Southern African region.

“I am incredibly proud of the consistent efforts of our entire team and the support from our travel industry friends and partners, which has once again made this important victory a reality.”

Da Silva took the opportunity to share that Air Mauritius is working towards injecting new and additional capacity into Cape Town and Johannesburg, effective April 2020.

Air Mauritius have established both Leisure and Corporate value propositions, offering more value for money so that travel to Mauritius becomes more accessible.

Said Da Silva: “We continue to appeal to all our travel partners to support Air Mauritius, so that we can continue to grow in this region.”
